Demo Compo

  • The entries have to be delivered as single .zip file
  • To avoid issues with the beam-system, the maximum resolution is 1024 x 768
  • Installation routines are forbidden. Unpacking your contribution into a directory and starting the executable have to be the only things necessary to get your production to work. all custom libraries have to be provided with your production and they have to reside in the same directory
  • Any custom libraries count into the filesize limit!
  • pressing either the right mouse button or ESC has to end the demo instantly.
  • Entries must run under Windows 7 32bit and latest DirectX Version available.
  • maximum size 64MB (67108864 bytes) archived (zip) including all files (readme etc...)
  • runtime limit: 10 Minutes

Graphics Compo

  • Only one entry per artist and competition allowed
  • Every component used in the image has to be your own property, no copyrighted material allowed!
  • You will have to deliver 4 worksteps named step1.???, step2.??? and so on (??? stands for the file extension). If we find your worksteps unplausable, we may be forced to disqualify you. But rest assured that we will contact you in advance to give you the chance to prove us wrong.
  • You have to deliver an unsigned version of your image!
  • The entries will be shown fullscreen.
  • In case that we will have to apply preselection: disqualified entries will not be spread and will not be votable.
  • You will have to provide a list of tools you used in creating your entry. This information will be shown on the bigscreen.
  • Animations are not allowed.
  • All contributions for the music, graphics and videocontent compos will be released under a Creative Commons Licence.
  • The entry has to be delivered as lossless file format such as .PNG, .BMP or .TIFF packed as .ZIP or together with the worksteps

Music Compo

  • The composer has to be present at the party personally
  • Only one entry per composer and competition allowed
  • In case that we will have to apply preselection: disqualified entries will not be spread and will not be votable.
  • Maximum allowed playing time is 4 minutes. Tunes that go beyond this limit will be faded out.
  • The use of copyrighted material is not allowed
  • All contributions for the music, graphics and videocontent compos will be released under a Creative Commons Licence. Look here for more information!
  • The entry has to be delivered as .OGG or .MP3 file with at least 160kbit/s average bitrate.
  • You will have to provide a list of tools you used in creating your entry. This information will be shown on the bigscreen.
  • If you want to compete with a tracked tune, please convert it to MP3/OGG first.

Oldskool Compo

  • Oldskool machines are 8 & 16 bit. Some examples : Commodore 64, Commodore 128, Commodore Plus4 Series, AMiGA (ECS/OCS/AGA), Atari ST(e), Atari Falcon, Atari TT, Gameboy (Advance), Gamepark 32, SEGA Mega Drive/Gensis, SNES/Super Famicom
  • Maximum runtime : 10 minutes
  • Think your machine is oldschool but are not sure ? Ask !
  • Expect Commodore 64 and Amiga (ESC/AGA) compo-machines, for everything else please consider bringing your own hardware.
  • No filesize limits here, just show how good you are...

Wild Compo

  • Whatever you cannot fit into Demo or Oldskool compo and can get a demo to run on.
  • Maximum runtime : 10 minutes
  • Please provide a xVid / Mpeg / DivX encoded movie of your production
  • You'll have to prove that it runs on the actual hardware (so bring it with you !)
  • Otherwise everything else is allowed.
