20.06.10 - Batch Of Updates
Its one week before the party so lets start with some news updates.Entrance Fee :After going thru the financials we decided to keep the entrance fee at 20 euros, same as last year. No day tickets, no compo lurker tickets, no pre-ordering. Just walk to the foodsupport -slash- infodesk upon arrival to receive your wristband.Camping :Multiple people have requested if its OK to bring a tent for sleeping. We have no specific agreement with the partyplace and the city, who owns the building, about this but as it does not seem to be not allowed we are declaring the grass field outside the party place as a mistery camping zone, you work it out.Shuttle :Remember that if you would like to use our shuttle to/from the dutch/belgian train stations you have to REGISTER for it. You can do this by sending a message to the organizers from the contact page. The shuttle drives to the trainstations of Genk (Belgium) and Susteren (Holland).Remote Entries :Why yes, we accept them this year for all competitions. There even is a fancy remote entry uploading form, just enter the details and you are all set. The usual notes apply but these are mentioned on the remote entry upload page.Party Registrations :Finally, we are putting in our 'order' of tables, chairs and drinks (that is, tasty belgian beer) on wednesday. So please register on the registration page if you are attending. It allows us to finetune the order and prevent excess stock.
25.05.10 - Shuttle service
By popular request we are again organizing a shuttle service between 2 train stations for those visitors that use public transport.
For people traveling on the dutch railways we provide a shuttle from and to the station of Susteren, located on the line Roermond-Sittard/Maastricht.
For people traveling on the belgian railways we provide a shuttle from and to the station of Genk, reachable from Brussels, Leuven and Liege with a transfer in Hasselt.
The shuttle service will run on friday from 6pm till end-of-train service and on saturday from 1pm till 9pm.
Important : you have to REGISTER for this shuttle service if you want to be picked up at either of the above rail-stations. You can do this by sending the organizers a message from the contact page
19.05.10 - Airtravel Update
Some updated travel information for those of you coming by air.
The closest airport to Maaseik are Eindhoven (Ryanair, Corendon, Transavia, CityJet and Wizzair - click here for a list of direct destinations or Maastricht (Ryanair). Not too far away as well, and with more low-cost carriers is the Köln-Bonn airport. Major carriers will fly in to Brussels and Amsterdam-Schiphol. The Ryanair-serviced airport of Charleroi - aka Brussels South - is also an option for many southern-european destinations.Amsterdam and Brussels have OK rail-connections, for the other airports you will either have to take a bus to a habitated area of the world or rent a car. Once in the neighborhood of Maaseik you can use our Party Shuttle, which we'll announce in full detail later.
